Senior Scientist – Quality
Salary: £36,000 – £41,000 + 8% bonus
Location: Hybrid (site-based in the Midlands with flexible working)

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Scientist – Quality to join a leading organisation in the energy and laboratory services sector. This role is ideal for a technically strong scientist who thrives in a quality-driven environment and wants to contribute to global projects in energy, natural gas, and related industries.
You will combine strong scientific expertise with analytical and problem-solving skills, ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance, calibration, and laboratory testing services. Working closely with colleagues across laboratory and operational teams, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, driving improvements, and supporting the delivery of accredited services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead quality assurance activities, including instrument validations, stability studies, and internal audits.
* Act as a peer reviewer for testing and calibration certificates, ensuring compliance with accredited methods.
* Support the development and maintenance of quality systems, documentation, and reporting.
* Investigate anomalies, resolve instrument or quality issues, and coordinate with suppliers where needed.
* Engage with customers to address technical queries and provide accurate certification and documentation.
* Contribute to health, safety, and environmental standards within laboratory operations.
About You
We are looking for a proactive scientist with a strong mathematical background and a passion for quality and precision in laboratory science.
Essential requirements:
* Degree in a science discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
* Knowledge and experience of working in a chemical, gas, or related laboratory environment.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Experience in quality assurance, audits, or compliance within a scientific environment.
Desirable:
* Experience with peer review of scientific outputs.
* Familiarity with accredited technical methods and calibration gases.
