The incumbent in this position is responsible for medication evaluation and management to a range of clients having psychiatric/mental health and substance abuse disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, under the supervision of consultin g psychiatrist(s). This position is under the supervision of the primary supervising physician in accordance with Virginia licensing requirements for Nurse Practitioners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
* Licensure in Virginia as a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in Psychiatric and Mental Health
* Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration for the prescribing of controlled substances.
* A mix of education and experience that shows the necessary skills and knowledge for the position.
* An appreciation for and support of diversity in all its forms, and a demonstrated ability to interact with or serve individuals with diverse backgrounds, including clients, coworkers, and members of the community.
* An eagerness to invest in one’s community through service.
* Must possess a valid Driver’s License, good driving record and the ability to provide own transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Autonomous ANCC PMHNP certification
* Two (2) years of experience working with persons who have serious mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and/or substance abuse disorders
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* May be exposed to allergenic environments from client’s including, dust, smoke, pet contamination.
* May be exposed to clients with infectious diseases.
* Must be able to drive for long periods of time to visit other clinic sites in catchment area as needed.
* Must be able to walk distances, climb and descend stairs, maneuver in and out of agency vehicles.
* Must be able to complete physical requirements of the job
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
* Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
SALARY: Starting at $131,702
