The Vacancy
Being genuinely serious about reducing and ultimately eradicating youth homelessness means offering interventions at the earliest possible opportunity. In Llamau, our Early Identification, Intervention and Prevention Services (EIIPS) are seeking to do exactly that.
We have two new full-time opportunities in Neath Port Talbot: one in our school-based Upstream Cymru Project and the other as a homelessness prevention Family Mediation Worker in the community. These roles are exciting, innovative, challenging, and rewarding, with a significant impact on the lives and futures of children, young people, and families.
Role overview:
* Provide preliminary advice, advocacy, and support for young people in partnership with Advice and Support Workers.
* Explore all aspects of potential prevention of homelessness in partnership with Mediation Workers, Advice Workers, and partner agencies.
* Work flexibly to meet the needs and wishes of young people, encouraging engagement and early access to support and homelessness prevention.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with partnership agencies, minimizing duplication and ensuring all needs are met.
What do you need to be considered for this role?
* A forward-thinking attitude to crisis response.
* The ability to remain calm and collected in challenging and traumatic situations.
What’s in it for you?
* Opportunities for career progression, with many senior staff having advanced from entry-level roles.
* Access to a benefits package, including up to 40 days of holiday (including bank holidays).
* Enhanced Group Pension Scheme with 10% contributions (after qualifying period).
* Free access to an internal wellbeing and counselling team.
* Opportunities to diversify skills across various services, including domestic violence support, employment support, training, and skills tutoring.
* Access to extensive online training and specific courses in substance misuse, housing law, ACEs, and more.
