Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Invoicing Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. Based at our Manchester office, this role is responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation, processing, and reconciliation of customer invoices in line with contractual and operational timelines.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced finance environment, strong numerical skills, and a commitment to first time-right service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, generate, and issue accurate sales invoices in accordance with delivery notes, contracts, and internal approvals.
* Maintain the invoicing schedule for machinery, parts, and service activities across multiple business units.
* Liaise closely with sales, service, and logistics teams to ensure all invoice data is correctly captured and reconciled.
* Monitor and reconcile invoicing discrepancies and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
* Support monthly and quarterly financial closing activities by providing invoice reports and supporting documentation.
* Maintain accurate digital and physical invoice records in compliance with company policies and HMRC standards.
* Assist the finance team with general administrative duties and process improvements as required.
Qualifications:
Experience:
* Proven experience in an invoicing, accounts receivable, or finance administration role (ideally within an industrial, manufacturing, or OEM setting).
* Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills with a proactive and collaborative approach to internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English; further finance qualifications (e.g., AAT Level 2/3) are desirable.
