We are a busy but friendly GP Surgery and we are seeking to recruit aMedical Receptionist to work 30 hours per week, Applicants will have proven experience in a demandingcustomer service role and previous NHS/general practice experience isdesirable. Must be IT literate, flexible and quickto adapt to change.
Main duties of the job You will work as part of a small team to provide administrative support to the GPs and nurses. Duties will include dealing with patients and external agencies. The role will require a good command of IT.
About us We are situated in Middleton St George, just outside Darlington. We have recently moved into a purpose built practice and we serve 5900 patients. We pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of care and excellent service to our patients.
Job responsibilities The purpose of the role is to:
Offer general assistance to the practice team andproject a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either inperson or via the telephone
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessingthe appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficientand effective way
Undertake a variety of administrative duties toassist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision ofsecretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of thepractice team
Facilitate effective communication betweenpatients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and otherassociated healthcare agencies
Person Specification Qualifications Good level of general education
Excellent communications skills both written & verbal
AMSPAR (or similar) diploma in General practice
Knowledge of GP Clinical Systems
Coding & summarising
Experience Experience in a customer focused role
Experience in a GP practice or primary care
Experience of systmOne
