As a Facilities Team Leader/Maintenance Manager, you’ll be at the heart of a dynamic communities—leading and motivating a small team to keep properties safe, compliant, and running smoothly. From planned maintenance to problem-solving on the spot, you’ll make sure students receive exceptional service every day.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and inspire your team to deliver first-class property and maintenance support.
* Take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring a safe and well-kept environment.
* Support training and development—helping your team reach their full potential.
* Ensure compliance standards are met on time and to a high standard.
* Step up as a hands-on leader, tackling anything from fixing doors to painting walls, moving furniture, or assisting with routine building checks.
* Play a key role in sustainability objectives—helping to create net-zero, resource-efficient student spaces.
Key Characteristics
* A natural leader with maintenance or property management experience (electrical, plumbing, decorating, or general handywork). Good general knowledge or experience working within maintenance, e.g., minor electrical, decorating, plumbing, joinery work.
* Confident managing and motivating a team, even in the absence of a Facilities Manager.
* Strong communicator with great organisational and time management skills.
* Calm under pressure with a detail-oriented and proactive approach.
* Holds a full UK driving licence.
* A team player who embraces diversity and values creating inclusive communities.
