We are seeking a Finance Assistant with 1–2 years of experience in a finance or accounts role, ideally within a construction or consultancy environment. The role will support the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks, project cost administration, and credit control activities, helping to ensure accurate financial records and timely cash collection across multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist with daily finance administration and data entry
2. Process supplier invoices and support accounts payable activities
3. Assist with bank and supplier account reconciliations
4. Support month-end close activities under supervision
5. Record costs against projects and cost centres
6. Assist with project expense allocation and timesheet processing
7. Support preparation of basic project cost reports
8. Liaise with project managers to obtain financial information
9. Assist with processing sales invoices
10. Maintain accurate accounts receivable records
11. Monitor outstanding invoices and ageing reports
12. Follow up on overdue payments via email and phone in a professional manner
13. Escalate overdue or disputed accounts to the Finance Manager
14. Maintain records of credit control communications and actions
Qualifications and Experience:
15. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
16. 1–2 years’ experience in a finance, accounts, or credit control role
17. Exposure to construction, engineering, or consultancy environments is an advantage
18. Basic understanding of accounting principles
19. Experience using MS Excel and accounting or project finance systems
20. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
