General practitioner - much birch surgery

Hereford
Taurus Healthcare
General practitioner
Posted: 26 August
Offer description

Following the retirement of one of our long-standing GPs, we are seeking a new GP at our innovative GP practice, now managed by the GP federation. We champion the doctor-patient relationship and continuity of care at the practice level, underpinned by the expertise of the federation and at-scale services.

The work plan we are seeking to fulfil includes 6 sessions: Monday Duty Day, Tuesday and Wednesday Routine Days, with hours that can be flexible to allow for approximately 8 hours per day. There is also some flexibility for an additional 7th routine session, which can be undertaken by one or more GPs.

If you're interested in a role that offers flexibility as your career evolves, the following options are available:

* You can tailor a salaried role to work hours that suit your lifestyle and clinical interests.
* We provide a safe and well-supported working environment so you can focus on delivering excellent clinical care to patients.
* We minimize administrative burdens and support you with other members of the MDT, giving you more time with each patient.
* Leadership development and clinical lead roles at the practice and across the federation.
* Opportunities to work in out-of-hours and enhanced access services.
* Develop a clinical interest with 15-minute booked face-to-face appointments.
* No more than 16 booked patient contacts per session.
* Reduced clinical admin, referrals, results, and letters due to our centralized functions.

The key responsibilities include:

* Providing best-in-class patient care.
* Driving quality improvements with colleagues to enhance patient health outcomes.
* Supporting MDT team members to deliver excellent joint patient care.
* Fostering a collaborative, ambitious, and innovative culture to build the best primary care service in the UK, exceeding patient and clinician expectations.
* Supporting trainees and team members.

We are a rapidly growing organization with a mission to ensure all patients have access to comprehensive, coordinated, and continuous care within a sustainable primary care system. Our goal is to improve patient access, experience, and health outcomes, significantly enhancing the quality of care.

The Much Birch GMS contract was novated to Taurus Healthcare in February 2024, but the practice team remains unchanged, as does the community identity of the surgery. Much Birch is:

* A busy rural dispensing practice at the heart of the community.
* Located in the village of Much Birch, between Ross-on-Wye and Hereford city.
* Covering an area from Hereford to Ross-on-Wye, extending into villages of the Golden Valley.
* Serving a list size of approximately 5,000+ patients.
* Supported by a clinical team of GPs, ANPs, Paramedics, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Physiotherapists, and Social Prescribers.
