Job Title: Social Worker - Standard (Children's Social Care) Department: Children's Social Care Directorate: Executive Director (Children's Services) Location:, Huyton, Merseyside, L36 6GA Start Date: 06 April 2026 Duration: 12 Weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Employment Type: Temporary IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Work Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days remote Pay Rate: PAYE: £29.77 per hour Limited/Umbrella: £39.15 per hour Job Purpose To deliver high-quality statutory social work services to children, young people, and families, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development through effective assessment, planning, and intervention. Key Responsibilities Manage a diverse caseload of children and families in accordance with statutory duties and local procedures Undertake assessments including Child and Family Assessments, risk assessments, and parenting evaluations Develop, implement, and review care and support plans Lead on safeguarding interventions, including child protection enquiries and conferences Prepare professional reports and give evidence in court when required Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals including education, health, and police Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records Promote and ensure the voice of the child is central to all decision-making Support children in care, including permanency and placement planning Professional Responsibilities Comply with Social Work England standards and professional codes of practice Participate in regular supervision and continuous professional development Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and safeguarding frameworks Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Essential Requirements Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent) Registered with Social Work England Experience within Children's Social Care services Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Children Act 1989 & 2004) Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional judgments Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills Desirable Skills & Experience Experience of court work and legal proceedings Experience in child protection and looked after children services Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Working Arrangements Hybrid working: 2 days remote, remainder office-based Office located in Huyton, Merseyside Travel required for visits to children, families, and partner agencies Why Join Bluestones Medical?
