Overview
Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Manager role at Prysmian. This is a full-time site-based position on the EGL1 project, with travel between two sites (Durham, England and Dunbar, Scotland) as the project progresses. The role reports to the UK Utilities SHEQ Manager and will include departmental and project reporting lines to support the project.
Responsibilities
* RAMS creation, review and issuance of permit to work for high risk activities.
* Work closely with the environmental and sustainability lead to ensure project sustainability targets are achieved.
* Review and modify Safety, Environmental and Quality plans.
* Assess key indicators such as near misses and observations and implement preventative measures.
* Promote a positive health and safety culture on site and within the team.
* Demonstrate high level health and safety leadership.
* Report KPIs back to the UK SHEQ Manager.
* Ensure all non-conformances, accidents and incidents (SHEQ) are reported and closed out per Prysmian procedures.
* Investigate accidents with root cause analysis and implement preventive actions.

* Site Establishment
* Site demarcation fencing
* Access roads/entrances onto construction easement
* Trial Holes (Joint bay positions)
* Topsoil strip
* Construct Haul Roads
* Construct Road / Ditch Crossings
* Proving pits and access to HDD entry/exit excavations
* Duct proving & cleaning and related remedials
* Joint bay excavation
* Ducts recleaned prior to cable installation
* Cable installation (Power & Fibre)
* Cable jointing, splicing and testing progression
* Reinstatement and demarcation fencing removal
* Demobilisation
You Are The Right Fit If You Have/Are
* Nationally recognized certificate or equivalent in Health and Safety (NEBOSH, NVQ, NCRQ)
* IOSH member
* Valid CSCS or CCNSG Card
* Proven experience in a Health and Safety Manager role
* Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems
* Active Continual Professional Development as a Health and Safety professional
* Experience in Renewable Energy, HVDC or Transmission Projects preferred
* Onshore civil and energy construction project experience
* Experience as Principal Contractor under UK CDM Regulations
* Fully conversant in UK Health and Safety legislation
* Proficient in ALARP Risk Management Principles
* Ability to write project plans and procedures to manage health and safety
* Customer-facing with experience managing tier contractors and a small team
* Previous project experience with Scottish Power / Iberdrola and/or National Grid is advantageous
