Cover Supervisor Location: Watford Pay: £95–£110 per day (PAYE) Job Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only Start Date: ASAP Are you confident leading a classroom and looking for a full-time Cover Supervisor role in a secondary school in Watford? We are recruiting a full-time Cover Supervisor to join a well-established secondary school with strong leadership, clear behaviour systems and excellent student engagement. This role offers consistency, structure and the opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience. The school is easily accessible via public transport, with multiple bus routes and nearby train links. There is also ample on-site parking for staff. The Role – Cover Supervisor As a Cover Supervisor, you will: Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of secondary subjects Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy Maintain a calm, purposeful learning environment Ensure students remain on task and complete work set Provide clear feedback to teaching staff Uphold safeguarding and professional standards at all times This is not a planning role — your focus is classroom management, engagement and maintaining continuity of learning. Requirements To be considered for this Cover Supervisor position, you must meet one of the following: A Degree qualification OR GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2 OR Level 2/3 qualification (NVQ, CACHE, BTEC or equivalent) OR A minimum of two years’ referenceable experience working in a school setting You must also demonstrate: Strong behaviour management skills Clear communication and confidence leading groups Good literacy and numeracy Professional presentation and reliability Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries Adaptability across subjects and year groups Compliance & Safeguarding All successful applicants will complete: Safeguarding, Child Protection and Prevent training Pre-Deployment briefing Professional Standards in Education training An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
