Position Title: Private Credit - Asset Management Business Title: Senior Associate Department: Private Credit Location: London Baring’s Global Private Credit Group is seeking an operationally minded Asset Management / Restructuring professional to join its Private Credit team, with responsibility for driving value across Barings Investments. The position will be based London and report directly to a Senior Investment Professional who oversees Asset Management for the Group. The candidate selected will have notable operational restructuring experience to enable them to take responsibility for underperforming exposures within the existing portfolio. They will work alongside the deal team, sponsor and management (where applicable) to support businesses through different stages of the investment lifecycle, navigate financial restructurings and oversee operational turnaround / improvement programmes, as required. With a pan European focus the Group is one of the largest Private Credit platforms in Europe managing €22bn of commitments across the middle market alone. Typically, investments are as senior secured or unitranche facilities to Sponsor backed businesses. This is a high-profile role which will require the individual to work closely with all elements of the Group. Primary Responsibilities Work closely with the investment teams to identify and actively manage positions where there are signs of underperformance. Provide restructuring, analytical and operational support to challenged situations requiring an operational or financial restructuring. Deliver analysis, supervision, and governance to portfolio companies and work with management teams to improve performance and generate value. Attending and presenting at Investment Committee meetings / update discussions relating to the allocated deals. Regularly communicating with senior stakeholders at Barings. Manage a portfolio of assets and assist with monthly and quarterly reporting responsibilities, including tear sheets and trend reports. Assisting with ad hoc special projects and investor reporting requests. Qualifications / Requirements 2-7 years experience at a market leading operational restructuring firm, transactions advisory arm of a Big 4 or restructuring division of an Investment Bank. Bachelor’s degree from a top tier university (unless direct entry to one of the above firms) Completion of a formal financial training programme (ACCA/ACA/CFA) Highly numerate with the ability to build, interpret and challenge 13 Week Liquidity Forecasts and interpret / review 3 statement business models (PL, BS, Cashflow) Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and negotiation skills. Experience in multiple sectors and geographies is preferred. Team player, with an exemplary work ethic and an ability to work under pressure. The candidate needs to be comfortable operating at C-Suite / Board level. A self-starter who can multi-task and independently manage deadlines. French speaking, desirable but not essential. Travel will be required.
