SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
Location: Newcastle
Contract: Temporary/ Full-Time
Start: ASAP/September 2024
GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support secondary-aged students in Newcastle. This role focuses on students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
Job Summary:
* Provide tailored support to students with SEMH challenges.
* Collaborate with teachers to implement strategies that promote student well-being.
* Assist in creating a supportive and understanding classroom environment.
Job Responsibilities:
* Implement behavioral plans under the guidance of the SENCO and classroom teachers.
* Monitor and report on the progress of students.
* Provide emotional support and guidance to students throughout the school day.
Qualifications:
* Experience supporting children with SEMH needs.
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, preferred.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
