Responsibilities
* Perform high quality ultrasound examinations using analytical and judgement skills to interpret complex images.
* Formulate comprehensive, diagnostic, independently written reports for each examination.
* Communicate distressing and unwelcome/unexpected news directly to patients using tact, empathy and diplomacy.
* Communicate complex information regarding diagnosis/treatment directly to clinicians and patients.
* Maintain personal clinical expertise in ultrasound scanning including ongoing CPD.
* Review, update and maintain patients clinical records.
* Participate in teaching students and clinicians in the field of ultrasound. Participate in the vetting of ultrasound requests.
* Deal with conflicting demands from different staff groups at all levels.
* Have a flexible approach to work and ability to work under pressure of high workloads.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold UK recognised PG Certificate/PG Diploma or Certificate in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent and be registered with the HCPC or NMC.
