We're looking for a dynamic, organised, and motivated pharmacist who is eager to develop specialist skills in this area. You'll need to bring vision, energy, enthusiasm, and strong influencing skills to help us deliver the safest possible care in a demanding, rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
* Be part of the pharmacy and medicines admission team on the Paediatric Admissions Unit (PAU) and Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU).
* Participate in the on-call, extended hours, weekend and regular core duty rotas as appropriate.
* Help develop better ways of supporting patients to know more about their medicines and how to get the best from them.
* Contribute to delivering safe, high-quality pharmacy services in a busy paediatric environment and support the team in adopting new technologies.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Essential: MPharm or equivalent degree; Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist; Post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
* Desirable: Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society; Pharmacist Independent Prescriber.
Knowledge and experience
* Essential: Appropriate post-qualification experience; Experience of report writing; Experience of working across organisational boundaries; Good oral and written communication skills for patients, parents and healthcare professionals.
* Desirable: Experience within paediatric pharmacy; Experience of developing business cases.
Professional/managerial/skills
* Essential: Computer literacy with Word and Excel; Experience of financial management and reporting; Experience of drug usage reviews and audits; Experience of preparing drug evaluations; Experience of interacting with senior clinicians and management; Evidence of continuing professional development; Understanding of healthcare policy and current national standards for safe prescribing; Ability to present complex information and negotiate with senior stakeholders; Ability to influence and persuade; Ability to manage complex workloads and work under pressure.
* Desirable: Experience of project management.
Analytical and judgement skills
* Essential: Ability to analyse data on medication use and optimise patient care; Problem solving; Ability to develop options and make decisions in complex situations; Proactive problem prevention.
