Your new role
Asmercial Lead, you will be responsible for deliveringmercial excellence, acting as a trusted advisor to the local delivery team, and ensuring a customer-focused approach that aligns with business needs and stakeholder priorities. You will:
1. Build and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring value for money and robust risk management.
2. Lead and develop a team, fostering high performance and professional growth.
3. Oversee the fullmercial lifecycle, including strategy, procurement, contract and supplier management, and grant delivery.
4. Develop category management strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and provide expertmercial guidance.
5. Ensuremercial assurance measures are embedded from the outset and maintain strong engagement across the organisation.
6. Within your first year, you will be required to gain aernmentmercial Function accreditation atmercial Lead grade.
What you'll need to succeed
7. Extensive experience in procurement management, delivering multiple procurements using central frameworks and open procedures.
8. Proven contract management skills, handling medium to highplexity/value contracts.
9. Strong knowledge of category management and the end-to-endmercial and grant lifecycle.
10. Demonstrated ability to secure value for money and influence senior stakeholders and suppliers.
11. Risk and assurance management skills, with evidence-based decision-making.
12. High ethical standards, upholding integrity in supply chains.
13. Team leadership experience, including developing others and managing performance.
14. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
15. Experience with Public Contract Regulations 2015 and/or Procurement Act 2023.
