Offer description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join us in the Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service for Stroke. This post is to work in the Thanet area (Margate & Ramsgate).

The role is a community position that involves a mix of specialist neuropsychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation interventions, and psychological therapy work. You will support people with their emotional adjustment and their stroke recovery, working with stroke survivors, their families and carers. We support a multidisciplinary approach wherever possible and work closely with colleagues in the Community Neurorehabilitation Teams.

The post is based at Gregory House in Canterbury and is co‑located with other colleagues in the service. The trust supports hybrid/flexible models of working and you will work closely with a Principal Clinical Psychologist who will provide supervision and offer informal support.

The post would suit someone with past neuro experience, but we would also consider a newly qualified individual or someone wishing to move across from another specialty.

Within the Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service there is a strong rehabilitation focus and staff have interests in a wide range of therapeutic models, including ACT, CFT, Narrative Therapy and Systemic Family Therapy approaches.

The service has a commitment to ongoing training and professional development and there are links with the Canterbury Christ Church Clinical Psychology training course.

Responsibilities

* To undertake high‑quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist neuropsychological interventions, taking substantial professional responsibility and exercising autonomous judgement in professional practice.
* To ensure the clinical effectiveness of your practice and service delivery by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area.
* To work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team with the local Community Neurorehabilitation Team.
* To be regularly responsible for providing training placements for trainee clinical psychologists in clinical neuropsychology.

Our vision is simple: We are here to help communities not just live with mental illness, but live well. It's why we're passionate about working with communities to make mental health care better for everyone. And everything we do is guided by our values—caring, inclusive, curious and confident.

Join us – if you share our passion for better mental health care and want to be part of a team that's doing well together.
