The ideal candidate is a seasoned chef with a background in fine dining. You will run an efficient kitchen by consistently looking to improve the menu, producing quality food, and working closely with our Director of Catering driving the overall food operations at Malvern College, one of our leading sites in Independent Education. With the contract undergoing substantial expansion, there's a wealth of exciting project work ahead. Responsibilities
* Creating innovative and appealing menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of students, faculty, and guests.
* Overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, to ensure high-quality culinary experiences.
* Managing food and labour costs effectively to optimise profitability while maintaining culinary excellence.
* Staying abreast of culinary trends and techniques, and introducing new dishes, cooking methods, and presentation styles to enhance the dining experience.
* Train junior personnel, including hiring, training, and performance management, to maintain a motivated and skilled team.
Qualifications
* 3+ years of kitchen experience at Executive level, ideally in contract-catering or high-end hotels
* Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, particularly with regards to high-volume culinary operations
* Experience in leading and supervising junior chefs
* Experience working within budget constraints and financial management proficiency
