As Environment and Sustainability Manager reporting to the Head of Health, Safety, Security and Environment, you will provide expertise and guidance in relation to legislation, regulation, and industry standards. You will lead the ongoing improvement of Nexus’ environment and sustainability framework and management system whilst working closely with key stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation. You will be part of a high performing team, delivering ambitious plans that really make a difference to our people, our customers and our region.



What does the role entail:



* Contributing towards the delivery of the QHSSE Strategy to ensure Nexus’ QHSSE objectives are met.

* Act as the organisation’s subject matter expert, advising on strategies to enhance our environmental management and sustainability across Nexus.

* Design of policy, strategy and operational frameworks that allow us to ensure the environment and sustainability are part of all our undertakings using a ‘continuous improvement’ approach.

* Maintain and enhance our Nexus wide ISO 14001 certification.

* Leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of the corporate Environmental Management System (EMS)

* Conduct analysis to identify emerging risks and opportunities to the organisation across all key areas and develop and implement control actions within environment and sustainability processes

* Ensure environment and sustainability policies and practices are informed by industry research and are aligned with organisational standards, legal considerations and international best practice.




What we require from you:


* A formal qualification in an environmental and/or sustainability related subject.

* Worked at middle or senior leader level with the ability to think strategically and make autonomous and dynamic decisions in relation to people and business matters.

* Have extensive and demonstrable knowledge of environment and sustainability management and practical experience in a complex organisation.

* Have proven experience of managing and delivering complex projects with limited supervision.

* Demonstrable experience of managing and influencing others, organising and delegating workloads and capable of working in a fast moving and changing environment.

* The ability to demonstrate values and behaviours that prioritise dignity and respect, alongside promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within our workforce.
