At Holmen Board and Paper, part of the Swedish-based Holmen Group, we produce premium paperboard under the brand Incada at our Workington Mill – located just west of the beautiful Lake District. As part of a team of 340 colleagues, you'll be working in a modern, integrated mill that runs almost entirely on fossil fuel free energy.
We’re now looking for a qualified and proactive Occupational Health Advisor to join our Human Resources team, reporting to the HR Business Partner and help us champion employee health, wellbeing, and safety across our site.
What You’ll Do
1. Provide expert advice on Occupational Health matters across the business.
2. Promote health and wellbeing initiatives to support a positive workplace culture.
3. Manage and coordinate casework involving illness, injury, and referrals.
4. Conduct pre-employment health screenings and advise on workplace adjustments.
5. Perform regular health checks for high-risk roles (e.g. forklift and crane operators).
6. Maintain accurate, confidential health records in line with GDPR.
7. Collaborate closely with HR and line managers to support attendance and performance.
8. Report on Occupational Health KPIs and manage departmental budgets and resources.
9. Liaise with outside agencies as required including GP’s and hospitals
What You’ll Need
✅ RGN (Registered General Nurse) with minimum 3 years’ post-registration experience
âś… Diploma (or higher) qualification in Occupational Health
âś… Strong working knowledge of UK Occupational Health practice and legislation
âś… Compassionate, professional and proactive approach to workplace health
