Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Support - University of Chester

Location: University of Chester

Start Date: FlexibleHourly Rate: £28 + £3.38 holiday pay

Randstad Student Support is recruiting Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Support Workers to assist autistic students at the University of Chester. This hybrid role requires the ability to travel for face-to-face sessions and provide flexible online support based on student preferences.

You will offer academic learning support that encourages independent study skills through tailored learning strategies aligned with each student's needs.


Key Responsibilities

As a Specialist Study Skills Support Worker, your role involves helping students to:

Develop independent learning strategiesBuild on strengths to enhance academic performanceImprove time management and organisational skillsCreate action plans to meet academic deadlinesStrengthen research abilities by using varied and credible sourcesUnderstand referencing and how to use academic sources correctlyImprove reading comprehension and academic writing skills

Support must always be student-centred, respectful, and handled with complete confidentiality. Any concerns must be reported promptly to Randstad to ensure students receive the highest standard of service.


Essential Requirements

This is a specialist role funded under the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA), so all applicants must meet the Department for Education's qualification framework.

You must have:

* An undergraduate degree (minimum Level 6)
* A teaching qualification
* Extensive training in adult autism

Accepted autism training includes:

* Six National Autistic Society (NAS) Modules (Non-Medical Helper package),OR
* The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education
