Job Description
Aureos is seeking a Document Controller to join our project in Swindon. The Document Controller is responsible for the management, control, and traceability of all project documentation associated with the delivery of a Main Intake Substation refurbishment on a nuclear-licensed site.
The role ensures that all documents and records are accurate, secure, current, and compliant with nuclear record-keeping requirements, NEC contract obligations, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Document Control & Governance
* Establish and manage the project document control system, ensuring full traceability and version control.
* Control the lifecycle of documents including:
* Review, approval, issue, revision, and superseded document management
* Ensure only current and approved documentation is available for construction use.
Nuclear Records & Compliance
* Maintain nuclear-grade records in line with:
* Client record retention and classification requirements
* Security and information management protocols
* Ensure documents are correctly classified, stored, and retrievable for audit and assurance purposes.
Interface Management
* Coordinate document interfaces between:
* Design teams
* Construction and commissioning teams
* Client and assurance functions
* Subcontractors and OEMs
* Manage incoming and outgoing documentation, ensuring timely distribution and response tracking.
NEC Contract & Project Support
* Support NEC contract administration by ensuring:
* Timely submission of contractual and quality documentation
* Accurate records supporting Completion, Take Over, and Defects processes
* Assist the project team with document status reporting and compliance tracking.
Handover & Close-Out
* Support compilation of Life-Time Records (LTRs) and handover packs.
* Ensure all required documentation is complete, approved, and accepted prior to project close-out.
* Maintain clear document indices and transmittal records.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Experience
* Proven experience as a Document Controller on construction or engineering projects.
* Experience working within regulated environments (nuclear, defence, energy, infrastructure).
* Familiarity with electrical or civil engineering documentation (desirable).
Skills & Knowledge
* Strong understanding of document control principles and configuration management.
* Experience using document management systems such as:
* Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, SharePoint, or similar
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
