The Role
NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit 2 Assistant Technical Officers to assist with the provision of the pharmacy service by participating in:
1. The accurate and safe assembly of medicines to be dispensed
2. The accurate and safe receipt, storage, distribution and delivery of medicines
3. The production, monitoring and filing of documentation
4. A ward stock management service

What we'll need you to bring
5. Scottish Vocational Qualification Pharmacy Services Level II or working towards or equivalent experience.
6. Or Postholders with no previous experience will be treated in accordance with Annex 21 Arrangements for Pay and Banding of Trainees
7. Initial induction period of up to 3 months, followed by a period of training and consolidation to achieve full competency within 12 months following induction.
8. Be capable of understanding and working within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
9. Commitment to CPD / Self motivation / Ability to work unsupervised
10. Able to plan, prioritise and organise workload and to work under pressure
11. Able to take direction, work under their own initiative and as part of a team
12. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
13. Demonstrate customer awareness/focus.
14. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
15. Willingness to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

17. Computer skills/key board skills
Contract type
1 Full time, 37 hours - Permanent
1 Full time, 37 hours - Fixed Term for 6 months
Please note the fixed term post is for 6 Months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location
This role will be based in Pharmacy within University Hospital Wishaw.
