Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Joiner / Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various structures and components on-site and in workshops. This role requires a skilled professional with a strong background in carpentry and joinery, capable of working efficiently within a team to deliver high-quality craftsmanship. The ideal applicant will possess a comprehensive understanding of construction processes and safety standards, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and precision.
Duties
* Fabricate bespoke joinery and carpentry components using hand tools and power tools
* Assemble timber frameworks, fixtures, and fittings according to technical drawings and specifications
* Install structures such as roofing frameworks, flooring, doors, windows, and customised woodwork
* Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing structures as required
* Assist with plumbing, masonry, electrical tasks, or construction painting when necessary
* Perform heavy lifting of materials and components safely during installation processes
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
* Collaborate with other tradespeople including plumbers, electricians, masons, and painters to complete projects efficiently
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
Experience
* Proven experience as a Joiner or Carpenter within the construction or renovation sectors
* Extensive knowledge of fabrication techniques, assembly processes, and joinery methods
* Proficiency in using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers), power tools (drills, sanders), and specialised equipment
* Experience working on roofing projects, including roof framing and related carpentry tasks
* Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation activities
* Familiarity with construction painting, plumbing, masonry, or electrical work is advantageous but not essential
* Strong understanding of health & safety regulations relevant to construction sites
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or joinery are preferred but not mandatory for highly experienced candidates
