Role: Team Leader Residential (Deputy Manager)

Location: Headington, Oxon

Contract/Hours: Permanent - 37 hours a week - Full Time.

Salary: £31,100 per annum (dependant on qualifications and experience) Plus £700 on call allowance. 37 hours a week.

About the Service:

Viking House is an overnight 6 bedded short break residential service, suitable for children and young people up to the age of 18 years of age with physical and/or learning disabilities, to include complex health and behavioural care needs.

We work to reduce the impact of the disability on the child's day to day life by providing support for them to participate, make choices, enjoy new experiences, make friendships and be part of their local community. At the same time parents and carers can have a much-needed break knowing their child is in a safe fun and enriching environment.  

About the role:

You will be passionate, committed, and resilient, we will be honest, the role can at sometimes be emotionally and physically challenging but it's also fun and diverse. You will feel a huge sense of reward by being able to help, in the best way possible If this all sounds ideal, then, you are exactly who we are looking for.

You will lead a team of support workers who are supporting the children with their day-to-day personal needs. Working with your team and the children to assess individual needs to develop tailored care plans. You will help to maintain a safe and fun environment for both staff and children within the home and whilst out and about in the community.

We are looking for a Team Leader to manage and lead a team of residential professionals and other staff as directed in the delivery of a 24-hour rota (including management of shifts).

You will help our Young People by:

* Deputising in the managers absence.
* Building positive relationships by providing emotional support to young peoplem with challenging emotional and social difficulties.
* Taking the lead with case/care planning management.
* Carrying out regular reviews of young people's care notes of support.
* Supervising, supporting, and training the staff team/volunteers.
* Personal care, administration of medication and clinical procedures.
* Going to EHC meetings also reviews, safeguarding conferences and court work.

Let's talk about your skills and what we need:

* A minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce Social Care Pathway/Residential Care or equivalent.
* Previous experience in a supervisory/ management role.
* Experience in managing and prioritising work.
* A commitment to going that extra mile.
* Experience of working with children with challenging behavioural, emotional and complex needs.
* An excellent understanding of safeguarding.
