Lead Electronics Design Engineer – Power Electronics
An innovative and rapidly expanding engineering firm is seeking a Lead Electronics Design Engineer to drive the development of next-generation motor drive and charging systems. This is a key leadership position where you'll oversee electronic hardware design from concept to production, supporting cutting-edge solutions for electrified powertrains and energy systems.
Key Responsibilities as the Lead Electronics Design Engineer:
Lead the electronics design and development of motor drive and charging systems, ensuring performance, cost, manufacturability, and compliance.
Oversee PCB layout and design, optimised for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), thermal performance, and relevant safety standards.
Ensure electronic solutions align with design specifications and customer requirements.
Provide technical leadership on electronics-heavy projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams including software, firmware, procurement, and project management.
Mentor, coach, and develop engineers and technicians within the electronics team.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and project delivery processes.
Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics or a related field.
Strong background in Power Electronics design, with a deep understanding of design for manufacture (DfM) and production in high-volume, harsh environments.
Skilled in strategic planning, risk management, and engineering project delivery.
Hands-on experience in the design of motor control systems and electrical packaging.
Multidisciplinary knowledge across electronics, PCB layout, mechanical interfaces, and embedded software.
