We have an excellent opportunity for a Business Manager to join our Engineered Solutions Division on a full-time permanent basis overseeing the coatings work stream. The Business Manager will be responsible for developing and continuously refreshing the Specialised Coatings Business Plan to achieve WGM’s long-term ambitions. Building strong relationships, both within WGM and externally, will be a key focus. The role-holder will be responsible for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that exceed customers’ requirements safely and profitably. Main duties and responsibilities To lead and provide strategic direction to the Precision Surface Solutions Business. Lead, manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements. To be responsible for developing the Precision Surface Solutions Business Scorecard and reporting performance monthly. The Scorecard will include Financial, Customer, Health and Safety, Quality and People measures. To work closely with the WGM Transformation and Digital Transformation Directors to explore opportunities for new ways of working in the Business. To work closely with the Performance and Planning Director to implement a process led way of delivering work in the business. To build strong relationships with the bWGM leadership to optimise opportunities for the business in England. To support and develop the framework opportunities across AMP 8, in the English Water Sector. To work closely with WGM Business Development to target and secure opportunities that are aligned with the strategic direction of the Precision Surface Solutions business. Identify, recruit and deploy the required capable resources within the business. Set the team objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports. To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar level managerial position ideally working within the wastewater or industrial sectors, the ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills. The preferred candidate will be Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making and have good commercial awareness, travel will be involved in the role so a full UK driving license is essential for the position.
