Freedom are currently recruiting for a Cable Jointer to join our team in Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a skilled team undertaking cable jointing works on paper/lead and polymeric cables, along with fitting and wireman duties. The role supports the upgrade and replacement of substation equipment, ensuring safe, high-quality workmanship and delivering fit-for-purpose networks for our customers.

You’ll be working on a variety of projects that promote the company in a positive light and contribute to the ongoing development of the UK’s electrical infrastructure.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

\n
1. Supporting the installation of power cable joints and terminations on paper/lead or polymeric underground or substation cable systems, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment in substations operating at up to 33kV.
\n
2. Assisting with the replacement of plant/equipment and associated multicores and earthing cables to deliver fully operational schemes.
\n
3. Progressing to "Authorised Person" status under SSE's Safety Rules, enabling:\n
