We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior M&E Technician (Electrical Bias) to join our Facilities Management team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People based in Little France, Edinburgh. This is a permanent position working 48 hours per week. The role will be on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, and working hours will be - 21:00. There will be participation in an out of hours on call rota, and overtime when necessary.
Key activities:
1. You will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within the healthcare environment.
2. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of SHTMs (Specialized Healthcare Technical Memorandum), PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance), and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
3. Have advanced knowledge of engineering building services installation and maintenance techniques.
4. Demonstrate advanced competence at level 3 in theory and practice or equivalent in a relevant Electrical or Electrical discipline.
5. May also have Leader responsibilities, providing general supervision of Craft or Operative Maintenance Assistants or leading a small team as a Shift Lead Line Manager.
6. Ensure all paperwork is completed within time scales, planning and prioritising works to agreed deadlines
Skills, qualifications & experience:
7. Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
8. Proven experience as a Electrical Technician or similar role in a healthcare environment.
9. Strong knowledge of SHTM (Sottish Healthcare Technical Memorandum), PPMs (Planned
10. Preventative Maintenance), and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
11. Excellent understanding of Engineering Building Services installation and maintenance techniques.
12. Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
13. Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
14. Strong organizational and time management skills.
15. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
