The club is looking for an experienced performance-level swim coach with the right attributes, mindset and drive to continue building on recent club growth and achievements, leading the club to the next level. With an exciting number of younger swimmers rising through the ranks (Thames Valley Junior League champions and Arena Division 1 finalists for the last two years in a row) and our highest number of qualifiers across county, regional and national championships in recent years, this provides a great opportunity for the right person to make their mark on a historic club.The Head Coach, reporting to the club’s Management Committee, is responsible for the overall wet-side operational activities of the swimming club which includes leading the club’s coaching and teaching team (with support from the club’s Academy Manager) in order to ensure the correct guidance, support and development of swimmers towards County, Regional and National achievements, providing input on the direction and strategy of the club, and coaching the club’s Performance 1 squad.**Responsibilities:*** Working with the Management Committee and your Coaching/Teaching team: + Lead the planning and implementation of a training programme and timetable aligned with Aquatics GB’s Optimal Athlete Development Framework (OADF), balancing ideal pool time/squad structure with the financial limitations of the club + Lead the preparation, in a timely manner, of a competition schedule suitable for swimmers at all levels in the club and ensure appropriate selection of swimmers for team events + Lead the development of the club’s structure over time to ensure appropriate adaptation to membership numbers and the financial position of the club + Drive the overall performance of the club and swimmers towards aspirational targets as agreed with the Management Committee* Effectively coach the club’s Performance 1 squad (currently 17 hours/week located across Bracknell Leisure Centre (25m) and Aldershot Garrison (50m) pools)* Have and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the technical rules of competitive swimming and share this with the coaching/teaching team* Commitment to attend continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities as required and both monitor and encourage the development of the whole coaching and teaching team as required* Hold regular team meetings with squad coaching staff and the Academy Manager* Follow all policies and codes as required in the club, including the Swim England Child Protection policy as set out in Wavepower, and promote the same for all members of the coaching/teaching team* Ensure an effective interface and alignment between the club’s Academy and Squads, and between Squads to promote suitable development and progress of swimmers* Attend meetings with and submit reports to, as required, the Management Committee* Develop a positive working relationship with all those involved in the club, including swimmers and their parents, coaches/teachers, volunteers and committee members* Attend galas as agreed and give positive feedback, encouragement and support to swimmers**Requirements:*** Minimum of Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Certificate (~~f~~or ASA Level 3 Coaching Award)* Be skills-focused with the ability to apply and share technical knowledge* Excellent time management, organisation, communication and administration skills* Able to motivate, lead and work well with a team* Demonstrate sensitivity and respect for the needs of all involved with the club* Support club activities that are undertaken## How to applyFor application, please email your CV and cover letter with contact details to the Club Secretary via the apply button.All applications will be treated confidentially.## Required QualificationsThis vacancy may require the following qualifications:* Coaching Swimming: Senior Swimming Coach Certificate or Level 3 Award
