At DXC, one of our platinum accounts has openings for a Solution Architect. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is passionate about conceptualising, designing, and resolving architectural problems and is able to switch between system design/architecture, hands on development, implementation, and client engagement activities.
Role responsibilities:
1. Interacting with project roles as required, to gain an understanding of the complex business environment, technical context, end client requirements and organisational strategic direction.
2. Advising our customer on the latest technologies and methodologies
3. Designing, and implementing innovative approaches to their problems and challenges.
4. Understanding security policies and implementing solutions to satisfy security requirements.
5. Designing and implementing solutions which have high availability, achieve performance metrics and are scalable.
6. Helping to shape, evolve and document the architecture that underpins the existing platforms and services and lead their on-going transition from legacy systems to cloud based architectures.

Required Skills and Technologies:
16. A proven track record in technical computing-based environments
17. Design of large, complex systems including practical experimentation and development skills
18. A deep understanding of Linux and its broader eco system
19. Network design, implementation, and administration
20. Working knowledge and a deep understanding of Virtualisation and Container technologies such as AWS, Azure, or other Cloud technologies
21. The ability to code, especially Infrastructure as code and CICD pipeline, code assurance, test and build.
22. A track record in the design and application of systems, leveraging automation technologies
23. A practical understanding of deployment automation
24. Has both technical breadth and depth and great client engagement skills.
25. Some working knowledge or appreciation of the listed technologies or their equivalents;
Foreman; Puppet; Satellite; Ansible; Nagios; AI/ML; Big Data; Elastic Search; IaaS; PaaS; HPC; DevOps; AWS; Azure; Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift; Linux based applications
