Quality & Manufacturing Manager Job Location: Ferndown, Dorset Job Type: Permanent Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday with a half day on Friday Benefits: 25 days Holiday + Bank holidays; Company sick pay; Auto‑enrolment pension; Annual salary review.
We are recruiting for a Quality & Manufacturing Manager for a manufacturer of bespoke designed electro‑mechanical special purpose display systems used by major companies around the world. You will be ensuring products meet exceptional standards across their operations and managing quality assurance activities (final inspections, FAIs, supplier quality, and customer issue resolution) whilst also driving manufacturing improvements that boost reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading quality processes and ensuring compliance with ISO and industry standards.
* Managing inbound inspections, FAIs, and quality control documentation.
* Investigating customer complaints, RMAs, and warranty concerns, ensuring timely resolution.
* Tracking and analysing quality performance data to identify improvements.
* Overseeing supplier quality, NCRs, and corrective actions.
* Supporting new product development with a focus on manufacturability and DFMEA.
* Creating and maintaining work instructions and supporting prototype builds.
* Driving continuous improvement across shop floor processes.
Key Qualifications
* Background in Quality Engineering or Mechanical Engineering within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Strong grasp of quality tools, methodologies, and root cause analysis.
* Experience reviewing designs for manufacture.
* Excellent communicator who enjoys collaborating across teams.
* Detail focused, accountable, and confident managing multiple projects.
* Proactive problem‑solver with strong decision‑making abilities.
