We at Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist provision based in Bridgend, dedicated to supporting young people aged 7 to 19. We are looking for a behaviour support assistant that can assist young people with a range of additional learning needs (ALN) and emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
The setting provides tailored support for pupils with Autism and other specific learning challenges, creating a safe and nurturing environment where every individual can thrive. The school is committed to ensuring every learner experiences joy, acceptance, and personal growth throughout their educational journey.
About the role:
We are looking for an empathetic, resilient individual that has a genuine passion for education. Within this role you will play a pivotal role in helping pupils re-engage with learning, build emotional resilience, and develop positive behavioural strategies. You’ll support delivery on tailored lessons in core subjects while embedding social and emotional learning throughout the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils across both primary and secondary phases
* Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
* Working closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning experiences
* Use de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches
* Foster a safe, inclusive and emotionally supportive learning space
What we are looking for:
* Experience working with SEMH, behavioural needs, or trauma-informed practice
* Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills
* Ability to adapt and think creatively under pressure
* DBS check required (we can help you obtain this!)
* Education Workforce Council application (We can help you apply!)
