Job Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Grade 4 Network Planner to join us at our Hinckley depot. Planners design our network and work with our Engineers to construct, reinforce, alter and replace our equipment. As you can imagine, the pace is fast, and if you join us, our customers will trust you to provide excellent service and minimise any impact.
To apply you’ll need English and Maths GCSE at Grade C/Level 4 minimum OR Functional Skills Level 2 or above. We’ll need to see evidence of your qualifications.
*Please note you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and subject to business need.

Main Responsibilities
You’ll be hands‑on and customer focused, managing multiple projects at the same time, including the design, costing and quoting of existing and new electricity network assets, you will also:
* Plan, prepare and deliver new services/alterations/small capital projects
* Carry out onsite meetings
* Work with wayleaves/estates specialist to obtain 3rd party agreements for NGED assets
* Financially review and close projects
* Communicate with customers effectively to manage expectations and resolve queries
* Schedule contracted works
* Communicate with local authorities and external stakeholders
The Ideal Candidate
We need you to understand our customers and their needs; strong communication skills are key, so you can solve their problem and explain issues simply and clearly. As you’ll be in control of your diary, we’ll need you to be resilient, organised and able to prioritise your workload. Team players thrive in this role, and experience using iPads and computers is a must.
You will need to be mobile throughout the area to carry out regular site visits, therefore a full UK/EU driving licence is essential.
You may not possess all the skills required to carry out the role at present but you will have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with appropriate training.
If not already attained you will be required to undertake a Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 qualification and complete TAR, which includes daily diary completion and a number of tasks and reports as required.
A full valid UK/EU driving licence is required for this role.
