Rushcliffe Borough Council are looking for a Democratic Services Officer to join the Democratic Services team.
Salary: £30,474 - £32,301 per annum (pro rata)
Job Type: Part-time, 22.5 hrs per week, some out-of-hours work

Democratic Services Officer - The Role:
We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic person to join our busy Democratic Services Team - we don't mind if you come with loads of experience or fancy trying something new.
Democratic Services Officer - Key Responsibilities:
- You will support daytime and evening meetings in-person, virtually, and hybrid by making appointments, checking reports, preparing agendas, and taking notes at the meeting to formulate into minutes
- We livestream all meetings and full training will be given to enable you to carry out this aspect of your role
- We use the Modern.Gov committee management system to keep a computerised record of agendas and minutes and you will need to be familiar with the Council's Constitution and the Access to Information Regulations
- You will work with officers at all levels across the Council and with elected Councillors to support them in their democratically elected role
- You will support the Leader of the Council as their PA and you will also support the work of the Mayor
- As well as supporting meetings, the Leader and the Mayor, you can get involved with the Councillors' training programme
Democratic Services Officer - You:
- Experience of working in an administrative/clerical function
- Able to demonstrate a high level of literacy and accuracy through educational attainment or work experience
- Ability to be able to advise and explain complex administrative and official procedures to elected members and officers
- Good computer literacy and word processing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Word and Excel
- Evidence an up to date knowledge of ICT systems, virtual and hybrid meeting software including Zoom and Microsoft Teams
- Excellent communication skills
