Engineering Sales Estimator

£50,000 - £55,000 basic + realistic bonus of £25,000 - £30,000
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Sales Estimator on behalf of a well-established and highly respected precision engineering business based in the Andover area of Hampshire.

Working closely with the Production Manager and the wider team, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring customer quotations are prepared accurately and within required timescales, while supporting the business in delivering on time, on quality, and on cost.
The role will involve technically overseeing new opportunities, ensuring parts are quoted and processed correctly and efficiently, and building strong working relationships with customers to fully understand their requirements and secure the right work for the business. There will also be the opportunity to identify new business opportunities where appropriate.
Key responsibilities:
Preparing accurate and timely quotations for precision engineered components/parts
Reviewing customer requirements, specifications, and engineering drawings
Working closely with the Production Manager and internal teams to assess feasibility, lead times, and costs
Ensuring quoted work is processed correctly and efficiently
Liaising with customers to clarify requirements and provide a high level of service
Working with the subcontract market and holding technical discussions where required
Building strong customer relationships and developing rapport
Identifying opportunities to win new work and support business growth
Supporting the wider team to ensure projects are delivered to the required standardsCandidate requirements:
Previous estimating experience within a precision engineering environment
Good understanding of how a precision engineering business operates, including its processes and workflows
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Technically minded, with an understanding of tooling and subcontract manufacturing requirements
Strong communication skills and the ability to ask the right questions to fully understand customer needs
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
