This is an exciting opportunity to join the Assessment and Review Team as a Full Time Equivalent (1 FTE) permanent position.
The chosen candidate will be supported by a Team Manager and will work in collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines within the team, including Social Workers, Care Co-ordinators, rehabilitation and technology staff. The team is responsible for the assessment for new community services, the review of existing care at home services and oversight of unmet need in relation to Care at Home.
Assessments will adopt a strengths-based approach and be undertaken in a multi-disciplinary context with a focus on collaboration to secure the best possible outcomes for the people being assessed.
Responsibilities
* Join the Assessment and Review Team as a 1 FTE permanent Occupational Therapist.
* Carry out assessments for new community services and review existing care at home services.
* Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines within the team to secure positive outcomes for service users.
* Apply a strengths-based approach in a multi-disciplinary context.
* Travel to service users' homes across West Lothian as required.
* Utilise excellent IT and communication skills to prepare reports and liaise with partners.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree level qualification in Occupational Therapy or other approved/recognised Occupational Therapy qualification (essential).
* Registration as an Occupational Therapist with HCPC.
* Extensive experience within an adults or older people’s team setting.
* Ability to work in partnership with other statutory and third sector organisations.
* Excellent IT and report writing skills.
* Full driving or means to travel to service users’ homes across West Lothian.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment by West Lothian Council.
Employment Details
Hours: 36 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, Permanent.
Location: West Lothian area, with travel to service users’ homes as required.
