RECRUITMENT AND ATTRACTION - RITS TESTER This role is primarily home‑based, as duties are conducted within a virtual environment in collaboration with MOD personnel and external contractors. For those who prefer an office setting, workspace is available at both HMNB Portsmouth and HMS SULTAN. Preamble The RITS Tester is an IT focussed role that acts as a member of the Testing Team. They have a Team Leader who will provide direction and a Testing matrix to work to. The purpose of testing is to test new enhancements and system ‘bugs’ in a safe environment before being deployed and tested in the ‘live’ system. These functions happen on 2 week a cyclical basis of which there will be concurrent activity between both systems. This will culminate in a drop into production on a monthly basis. Due to the Agile working system this can change at any point and will be directed by the Team Leader. Functional Management on a daily basis will be provided by the Test Manager but overall accountability will be to the Product Owner. Secondary duties will be monitoring the BI Group mailbox and assisting with fixing or raising BUGs or ISSUEs. Also, will be helping the Business Architect Creating User Stories as and when required. On a day-to-day basis there will be meetings to discuss testing progress between both Services (RAF) and subsequently meeting with the Developers to discuss progress and issues. Purposes Primary Purpose. To ensure that the Testing plan is completed on time to enhance RN Recruitment experience with RITS with all Stakeholders, Recruiters and Candidates. Secondary Purpose. To assist the Business Architect with User Stories. Secondary roles include: Collaborate with Users and Testers to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of testing Assist the Business Architect with User Stories. Update Testing Plan when Required. Assist with triaging BUGS. Assist when required with the BI Group Mailbox. Assist in working groups for planning and delivery. Accountability RITS Support Administrator is accountable to SO1 Strategy & Delivery for matters relating RITS. In respect to their daily activity, they are accountable to the RITS Product Owner who is their Divisional Officer/Line Manager. Authority RITS Tester is to authorised to: Liaise directly with Testing Teams and Lead Testers within both RAF and Royal Navy. Other Directorates within the Navy Command HQ. RN and RM establishments. Army and RAF Recruiting Directorates. Armed Forces Recruitment Project. Appropriate civilian authorities, such as Government Digital Services. Contractors providing Services to RN Recruiting Support and development teams working on RITS and other digital capabilities that the system interfaces within. Development of Staff This role has no Divisional/Line Management responsibilities; however, it is responsible for the delivery of forward reaching education/training relating to the RITS platform for R&A, and the wider RN. This will include mentorship/coaching as needed to maximise the use and functionality of the RITS platform for all users. This activity can be conducted in the virtual or F2F arena, as dictated by the Service.
