Band & Salary
Band 3 - Salary Range - £29,103 - £31,409 per annum (pro rata). Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,578 per annum (pro rata).
Overview
Are you a Healthcare Support Worker or looking for a new challenge and development opportunity? Ward 1/HDU is a busy surgical unit that admits both adults and children that require surgery whether it’s planned surgery or emergency care. We strive to provide our patients with a patient centred approach to their care on an individual basis which includes a holistic methodology. The care provided is to an excellent standard in an extremely busy environment that is both challenging and rewarding. You will learn many new skills and enable patients to have the best possible standard of care.
Requirements
Experience in the care sector is desirable but not essential. You will have effective written and verbal communication skills, numeracy and an interest in developing your skills in preventing healthcare associated infections (HAI).
Payment for unsocial hours
Our Healthcare Support Worker roles attract enhanced payments for unsocial hours, including evenings, nights and weekends.
Agenda for Change (April 2026)
As from 01/04/2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
