Volunteers are at the very heart of our policing community, playing vital roles in strengthening the bond between the force and the public we serve. This is your opportunity to step into a pivotal position at the Strategic Area Policing Hub (SAPH), where you will shape strategy, drive collaboration, and champion the work of Police Support Volunteers and Independent Advisory Groups, among others.
We are looking for someone who is not only skilled in leadership but also truly enthusiastic about working with volunteers; someone who values their contribution, inspires their commitment, and ensures their voices are heard.
If you are motivated by purpose, inspired by teamwork, and driven by a passion for working with volunteers, we invite you to bring your skills and leadership to our policing family.
Hybrid working is available for this role; you would be expected to work from the office 3 days a week, and are able to work at home for the remaining 2 days.
About the Role
As a leader within Citizens in Policing, you will guide and support staff, empowering them to deliver meaningful impact across our communities. This is more than a role; it is a chance to influence policing, nurture dedicated volunteers, and help us deliver excellence in service.

1. Working to maximise volunteer contribution in achieving force objectives and to strengthen partnerships between the police, its communities and other agencies.
2. Maintaining and reviewing the force strategy for the Police Support Volunteer (PSV) Scheme, providing guidance on this in line with force policy, and ensuring all activity in relation to the PSV scheme is compliant.
3. Liaising with People Services in the recruitment of volunteers to maintain appropriate resources and identify opportunities to attract volunteers from hard to reach communities.
4. Working at strategic and district level in relation to the Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs), providing advice and guidance in line with force policy and manage the strategic IAG.
5. To provide supervision to the Specials Co-ordinator, Police Support Volunteer Co-ordinator, CSAS Co-ordinator, Volunteer Police Cadet Support Officers and Citizens in Policing co-ordinators across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
6. Representing Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary at regional and national forums.
