The Chapter of York's collections of archives and manuscripts date back to the year 1000 and occupy a kilometre of shelving. The archives include a series of paper-based architectural drawings of York Minster (1720s-), used by its Works department in the care, maintenance and conservation of the building, and for research purposes.
We are seeking a Project Archivist to continue the work of listing and classifying the series of architectural drawings of York Minster. This project will involve appraising, listing, classifying, labelling and packaging the architectural drawings.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of cataloguing archival material to recognised professional standards and of using cataloguing software. We are looking for a self-organised, team player with a collaborative mind-set who is committed to best practice.
For more information and to apply, please visit the York Minster website. Completed applications should arrive no later than 5pm on Saturday 6 September 2025. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing Monday 13 October 2025.
Due to the Safer Recruitment Requirements of the Church of England, we are unable to accept CV's and applications directly via Indeed. To apply, please visit the York Minster website.
