Location: South West (Devon-based) | Home-based (Office in Taunton 2 times/month)
Salary: £40,000+ PRP after probation + OOH payments

Supervising Social Worker - About the role
This is a home-based role covering Devon, with occasional travel to the Taunton office. You will support foster carers across the region, ensuring high-quality practice and that all carers remain "Ofsted-ready" through strong compliance and evidence of positive outcomes.
The service prioritises a low caseload model, enabling you to build meaningful relationships with carers and focus on delivering high standards of support. You will also contribute to carer recruitment, assessments, and training, while promoting a cooperative and solution-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities of Supervising Social Worker
Support and supervise foster carers, ensuring high-quality care and compliance
Maintain a strong child-centred approach in all areas of practice
Ensure carers meet Ofsted standards and statutory requirements
Undertake Form F assessments and present to panel
Deliver training and identify development needs for foster carers
Participate in recruitment activities and promotional events
Complete high-quality matching and placement assessments
Work collaboratively with local authorities and multi-agency teams
Participate in out-of-hours rota (1 in 6 weeks)
Please apply if you have:
Social Work qualification (Degree or Masters) and SWE registration
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience (ideally in fostering)
Strong knowledge of fostering legislation and safeguarding frameworks
Experience completing Form F assessments
Ability to manage a hybrid role with travel across Devon
Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
