For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible Registered Nurses with 1-2 years of experience and $20,000 for those with more than 2 years of experience!
* Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time RN position. Bonus amount is prorated for Part-time hires; Per diem hires are ineligible.
* Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former employees are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation.
Unit Bio:
Start or expand your nursing career at Maine Medical Center's innovative hybrid cardiology unit! Provide high-quality, safe care to patients with medical, surgical, and interventional cardiology needs. Develop a solid foundation of clinical skills for various career paths. R1 is a 36-bed telemetry unit emphasizing collaboration and teamwork. You'll be supported by award-winning nurse leadership and a passionate clinical nurse educator. We look forward to meeting you!
Summary:
The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission, vision, and values by demonstrating excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family-centered care, community commitment, and accountability. Within national nursing standards and institutional policies, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care, which may be provided across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
1. Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education annually.
2. License/Certifications: Current Maine RN license. Specialty certifications preferred.
3. Experience: At least 1 year of RN work experience. Meets all Clinical Nurse I requirements. Cardiac experience and cardiac surgery experience strongly preferred.
4. Knowledge of professional nursing practices, principles, and processes.
5. Effective interpersonal and communication skills for interactions with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
6. Analytical skills to identify patient condition changes and initiate appropriate actions.
7. Ability to manage potential crises involving patients and families.
8. Demonstrates caring nursing practices and promotes a healing environment.
9. Technical skills to care for most patient populations on the unit.
