West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Planning Compliance Officer to join our Planning Service. If you are passionate about ensuring compliance with planning regulations and contributing to sustainable development in our community, this could be the role for you.
Overview
The Planning Compliance Officer will assess and enforce planning controls, undertake investigations of alleged breaches, and provide advice to applicants, developers and the public on planning compliance matters. You will work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Carry out site visits and inspections to assess compliance with planning permissions and regulations.
* Investigate alleged breaches of planning control and gather evidence to support enforcement action.
* Advise applicants, developers, and members of the public on planning compliance matters.
* Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
* Knowledge and understanding of planning legislation and procedures.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with applicants, developers and other stakeholders.
* Strong investigative and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently, manage a varied caseload and prioritise tasks effectively.
The ideal candidate will also be well organised, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively within a team.
