About the Role
To provide efficient and effective facilities support to the Campus and ensure that the general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained to the required standards. You will be responsible together with other members of the Facilities Team for the security of the Campus buildings. The post holder is to always carry out safe working practices, being conscious of students, staff and visitors in the vicinity. This role does require 1 in 4 weekends.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* To assist in facilitating community engagement activities/lettings with set up/clear down of activities and customer facing communication onsite
* Carry out statutory maintenance checks such as fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, refuge call points, fire alarms, water temperatures, fire doors, etc.
* Ensure the state of the grounds is to a reasonable standard including cutting grass, cutting back hedges/bushes, leaf clearance, tidying borders, removing weeds, clearing out drains, etc.
* Ensure all incidents and faults are reported to the facilities help desk. Also, liaise with relevant building occupants to inform them of the impact of the incident/fault.
* Be responsible for the unlocking of buildings or the locking up of buildings ensuring all windows are checked and closed.
Requirements
You will need:
* Good general education to include Maths and English to Grade C, or willingness to undertake.
* Practical knowledge of the H&S at Work Regulations
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and liaise with people at all levels to build trust and credible relationships with customers.
* Possess a pragmatic, flexible and proactive approach to complete tasks.
