The Council has the powers under The Traffic Management Act 2004 to issue Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles found in breach of this Act. The Council is responsible for ensuring all Notices are processed correctly and in accordance with legislation. This team oversees this service.
About the job
The post holder will make impartial decisions regarding informal and formal appeals against Penalty Charge Notices, and handle associated correspondence and actions in line with legislation and policy. Decisions will be communicated clearly and concisely. The role includes providing administrative support within the Civil Parking Enforcement Parking Services Team, including processing Blue Badges and Resident Parking Permits.
The post holder will assist with processing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), from initial processing to debt recovery and engaging Enforcement Agents when necessary.
Support will also be provided to Civil Enforcement Officers & Moving Traffic Offences team to ensure high-quality, effective service delivery that meets customer and council requirements.
What We Are Looking For From You
You must be able to make consistent, fair decisions and analyze documents accurately, maintaining impartiality at all times. You should have experience communicating decisions with clear explanations to customers. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. You need to be a team player, IT literate, and capable of using technology effectively. Experience handling contentious or complex customer queries over the phone is also required.
You should have a City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Notice Processing or be willing to learn and undertake an examination in Notice Processing.
