Housing Modernisation and Strategy Manager
Location: Birmingham City Council, Birmingham, B3 3BU.
Salary: £42,839 - £51,356 (Pro Rata) – Grade 5, Fixed Term Secondment, 6 months (March 2026).
Hours: 36.50 hours per week. Contract: Full time.
Description
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within City Housing's newly formed Strategic Enabling function. The function is key to reach our objectives to become 'best in class' and provide the best housing offer in the country to the citizens of Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development and implementation of the emerging new Local Housing Strategy.
* Undertake related research and analysis.
* Plan and conduct consultation with partners and residents.
* Support strategy project management.
* Conduct case reviews with officers processing rehousing for residents affected by citywide major regeneration schemes.
* Prepare reports and business cases; deliver presentations.
* Manage people, caseloads, and projects.
Essential Criteria
* Strategic thinker with understanding of national and local issues affecting the housing landscape.
* Experience of strategy development, asset management, and partnership development at local, national or regional level.
* Ability to conduct research and analyse information from a range of sources.
* Experience of managing people and their caseloads.
* Experience of producing business cases and delivering presentations.
* Proven initiative and ability to work independently.
Other Requirements
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be undertaken.
* Proof of Right to work in the UK required before any employment offer.
