Following recommendations and our commitment to the Better Births Programme, an exciting opportunity have arisen for a Core Midwife Led Unit- Midwife to help drive forward the recommendations.
Our Midwife Led Unit- Midwives promote normality and the use of alternative therapies for the benefit of all women. **We are offering a clinical fellowship programme to our new staff, following a minimum of 6 months working with us, this includes access to fully funded master's degree**

Job Summary
1. Work within NMC codes of practice and professional guidelines.
2. Work autonomously within Trust guidelines and sphere of professional
practice with reference to departmental manager as appropriate
1. Provide effective and visible clinical leadership
2. Advocate and support the rights of individual women to make informed
choices about their care
1. Participates in high quality care for women and their families, also providing
mentorship and professional support to enable students and maternity
support workers to do the same.
1. Promote equality, diversity and rights.
2. Provide constructive feedback and support to enable junior colleagues and
student midwives to develop.
1. Undertake all mandatory training required by the Trust and specific to
midwifery practice.
1. Act up for the departmental ward manager/team leader in their absence
2. Must be NLS trained with a minimum of 3 years band 6 experience.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 286,700, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities. Work is also well underway on its multi-million pound new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre which will house a new Emergency Department (including Children's Emergency Department), co-located Paediatric Assessment Unit, Acute Medical Unit and Urgent Care Centre. This is scheduled for completion this year.
