Position Details
This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy.
We’re looking for a qualified or part-qualified Financial Accountant (due to qualify within 12 months) to join our dynamic Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and driven professional to lead on statutory accounting, regulatory returns, ESG reporting, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audits
2. Submit regulatory returns to the Regulator for Social Housing
3. Maintain the Assets and Liabilities register
4. Ensure efficient month-end and year-end close processes
5. Develop and maintain robust financial controls and reconciliations
6. Oversee ESG reporting and filing
7. Provide tax advice and manage VAT and Corporation Tax processes
8. Administer accounting systems and reporting timetables
9. Prepare financial performance reports and KPIs
10. Support internal and external audits
11. Lead and develop team members, fostering a “One Team” culture
What We’re Looking For
1. Strong technical knowledge of accountancy, VAT, tax, and treasury
2. Excellent communication skills at all levels
3. Leadership experience and ability to motivate and develop teams
4. Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
5. Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite
6. Ability to manage financial risk and regulatory compliance
7. Commitment to professional development
