Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist
The post-holder will provide specialist clinical and professional skills as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist.
The post-holder will be based at the Caird House site in Hamilton as part of the Forensic Community Mental Health Team for Lanarkshire, providing Responsible Medical Officer input to community outpatients. The post includes 2 sessions of psychiatric input to HMP Shotts and shared involvement in the court liaison service.
Occasional input may also be required at University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Hairmyres psychiatric units on an ad‑hoc basis for patients under the care of the Forensic Community Mental Health Service.
The role offers time for non‑clinical activities, CPD, research, audit, and regular supervision and teaching of medical students and junior medical staff.
Less than full‑time working or compressed hours may be considered.
